Painting two clear positions is a good storytelling device, in reality people’s beliefs have greater variety and nuances.

BTW, I like your approach and personally take the same approach, after all a number of things cannot be quantified in that way which nevertheless exist. I’ll head over to your blog and check it out too.

I like the dialogue as well, for the same reasons, and I agree that some militant atheists might react in the same as the Kangeroo: “if I can’t feel, touch or taste it, then it doesn’t exist.”

Personally, I adopt a softer approach. If something cannot be detected at all by our five senses (or through empirical investigation), then it isn’t necessarily false, but simply unevidenced. This is a subtle, but important difference. I never claim that things we can’t detect (angels, demons, ghosts, etc) don’t exist. Rather, I simply withhold belief in these things until sufficient evidence is in.

Thanks Dion – I’m using one of the freeby layouts that WordPress supplies

I’m considering the Libronix system for my Mac. I have an old version on PC and am battling to unlock the titles from my Hebrew and Greek collection (which I’ve just dusted off from a few years back). I’m having hassles getting my collection unlocked on my Win7 machine with Libronix v.30f (or something like that) so am loathe to move across if there’s hassles then unlocking them on my Mac.

I’ll test out the Hebrew and Greek fonts that I have and see if I have a similar problem. Are you using a font manager (other than FontBook.app)?

I believe the battery life on the Air is fantastic – and that the new generation means around 7 hrs of working battery life. I’m loving the 4 hrs on mine but could really, really do with an extra 3.

I’ve heard occasional rumours about something an Apple Tablet – one where a version is slated for release next year and another that the design is around twice the size of the iPod Touch. I would prefer something larger and with greater resolution.

Please, please, Steve Jobs (I think the Apple guru?), put in ePublication software that isn’t propriety to Apple or Amazon. It must read everything!
